Whether you're an immigrant, a disaster victim, someone with a disability, or a woman or child facing tough times, our information desks are set up just for you. We’re ready to help you navigate any public or civil society-related procedures.
If you have legal questions, our free consultation and support services are here to guide you. We care about your well-being, which is why we offer physiotherapy to support the physical health of disabled children and provide psychological support for those in need of psychosocial assistance.
We believe in the power of community and social integration, so we organize various educational and social activities to boost social solidarity. Through these efforts, we hope to contribute to a brighter future for everyone.
At AID-DER, we’re more than just a service provider; we’re a community dedicated to supporting each other and making a positive impact in the lives of people from all walks of life.
At Aydınlık İçin Dayanışma Derneği (AID-DER), we understand that many individuals, especially refugees and disadvantaged groups, face challenges in accessing essential government services. Our dedicated info desk provides assistance for up to 700 cases each month, helping users navigate various obstacles in their daily lives.
Our services cover a broad range of issues, ensuring that individuals can access critical resources. We assist with scheduling hospital appointments, immigration appointments, and understanding the necessary steps to apply for utilities. Additionally, we guide families on enrolling their children in schools, ensuring educational access.
For more complex needs, our team handles casework that includes obtaining identification documents, managing resettlement cases for refugees, and providing legal support in deportation situations.
We recognize that being disconnected from vital services can severely impact the health and well-being of a community. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, particularly those in vulnerable situations, receives the assistance they need to access services that are their human right. Through our comprehensive support, we strive to empower individuals and foster a healthier society.
At Aydınlık İçin Dayanışma Derneği (AID-DER), we provide up to 300 physiotherapy sessions each month for disabled children, the majority of whom are refugees. Many of these children face significant challenges, including genetic and developmental disorders, as well as injuries from war and natural disasters like earthquakes.
This vital service is delivered in partnership with Emesa Fizik Tedavi Hizmetleri, a refugee-owned and operated physiotherapy company. Together, we focus on enhancing mobility, improving overall physical health, and promoting independence for these vulnerable children.
Our physiotherapy treatments utilize a variety of methods tailored to meet each child's unique needs:
Manual Therapy: This hands-on technique alleviates pain and improves mobility by manipulating muscles and joints, helping children regain movement following injuries or disabilities.
Exercise Therapy: Customized exercise plans are designed to strengthen muscles, enhance coordination, and improve balance, making therapy engaging and suitable for each child’s abilities.
Neuromuscular Re-education: For children with developmental challenges, we use techniques that help retrain the brain and body, improving motor function and coordination.
Assistive Technology: We introduce adaptive equipment and tools, such as customized orthotics and mobility aids, to facilitate movement and independence.
Through our collaboration with Emesa Fizik Tedavi Hizmetleri, AID-DER is committed to improving the quality of life for disabled children. Our comprehensive physiotherapy services not only help them regain strength and confidence but also foster a supportive community that emphasizes human rights and access to essential health services.
At AID-DER, we understand that navigating life’s challenges, especially after experiencing trauma from natural disasters or displacement as refugees, can be overwhelming. That’s why we’re committed to providing comprehensive psychosocial programs designed to support both children and their parents in overcoming these hurdles.
Our Psychosocial Support Services
Qualified Therapists Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Our compassionate and qualified therapists are dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate challenging experiences and develop effective coping strategies. We offer a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help children and their parents work through the emotional impact of natural disasters or the unique stresses of the refugee experience. By addressing difficult emotions and fostering resilience, our therapists help families restore a sense of well-being and stability.
Focus on Children and Families
Children are incredibly resilient, but they also need the right support to thrive after trauma. At AID-DER, we prioritize the mental health of young ones affected by crisis situations. Our tailored programs focus on:
Emotional Regulation: Teaching children how to identify and manage their emotions.
Resilience Building: Helping kids develop coping mechanisms for future challenges.
Parental Support: Equipping parents with tools and strategies to support their children effectively.
Focus on Young Adults and Adults
At AID-DER, we understand that young adults and adults face unique challenges when recovering from trauma. Our specialized programs are designed to support their mental well-being and empower them to rebuild their lives. We focus on:
Emotional Resilience: Guiding individuals in managing stress and developing healthy coping skills.
Empowerment and Self-Efficacy: Helping participants regain confidence and a sense of control over their lives.
Community Integration: Offering resources and support for building strong connections and a sense of belonging within their communities.
Accessibility for All
While our primary focus is on children and families affected by natural disasters and refugee crises, our psychosocial support services are available to anyone in need. We believe that mental health care should be inclusive and accessible, ensuring that everyone can find the help they deserve.
